If you didn’t visit Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yet then you should plan to do it very soon. This is a destination that any traveler should not miss, a “must see” place it’s how i like to call it. Dubai is know for it’s fantastic architecture , with many spectacular building being built every year but also known for the vibrant nightlife and luxury shopping. What can you see in Dubai ?
Deira lies on the northern bank of Dubai Creek, and the winding streets here unveil the melting pot of different nationalities that have come to call Dubai home. On the shore, ancient dhows load and unload with modern banks, hotels, and office buildings as a backdrop. For travelers, Deira is most famous for its traditional souks (markets), which bustle with shoppers at all times of the day. Deira Gold Souk is world-renowned as the largest gold bazaar in the world. The Deira Spice Souk sells every imaginable spice, with stalls overflowing with bags of frankincense, cumin, paprika, saffron, sumac, and thyme, as well as the fragrant oud wood, rose water, and incense. The fish market provides a much less touristy experience. While in the district, culture lovers shouldn’t miss two of Deira’s finely restored architectural gems. Heritage House was built in 1890 as the home of a wealthy Iranian merchant and later became the home of Sheik Ahmed bin Dalmouk (a famous pearl merchant in Dubai). Today, it’s a great chance to see the interior of a traditional family home. The Al-Ahmadiya School, constructed in 1912, is the oldest school in Dubai and is now a museum of public education.
Dubai has the tallest building in the world but that’s not all, it has the tallest hotel in the world too! Dubai is home to the world’s tallest hotel, the Burj Al-Arab. If you can’t afford the $15,000/night luxury suite, try dining amongst the sea creatures in the underwater restaurant! See more info on Dubai Travel Agency.
Look into the future at the world’s largest manmade marina, Dubai Marina. Marvel at iconic buildings as you stroll along Marina Walk or see the sights from the water on a traditional dhow cruise. This New Dubai hotspot is on every visitor’s holiday itinerary for a reason, and with an array of waterside restaurants to choose from, as well as irresistible retail therapy at Dubai Marina Mall, it’s easy to while away an afternoon here. Feeling brave? Take on the XLine, the world’s longest urban zipline.
Another huge reason to visit Dubai is the World EXPO 2020. That will be a sight to behold! It’s all happening in the Dubai South district, near Al Maktoum International Airport. There will be a lot of dedicated transport heading to the site 4.38 sq km site, and a metro station is being built that can handle 44,000 passengers per hour. With an influx of international visitors expected, Dubai International Airport is also working to upgrade its runways, while new hotels are springing up near the Expo 2020 site.
